Diamondcord FAQs

Important Information for Dealers and Retailers

My dealership sees a great deal of revenue from starter cord repairs. Will I suffer a loss of these revenues if I sell the Diamond Cord™?
  • The profit margin on sale of Diamond Cord™ is much higher than nylon.
  • The Diamond Cord™ is geared towards the commercial/Industrial user so there is still a market for both nylon cords and Diamond Cord™.

  • The average homeowner that is budget‐ oriented, does not rely on his lawnmower to make a living, and only mows his lawn seasonally every one to two weeks may still opt to buy a nylon cord.

  • The commercial user (ie. Loggers, rentals, construction) will be happy you’ve provided them with a solution to the downtime, monetary loss and inconvenience suffered in the event of a broken pull cord.

  • Commercial users replace their equipment far more often than a residential user, and when they do purchase new equipment you will profit from the labor to install the Diamond Cord™ and the sale of the Diamond Cord™.

What are the potential risks/dangers associated with a broken cord?
  • From life saving equipment (i.e. Forest Fire fighters use mark 3 pumps or a power pack to power the Jaws of Life) to snowmobiles (no explanation needed here!!) to outboard engines, the Diamondcord is mandatory. It makes absolutely no sense in any of these scenarios to put your trust and life in a cheap piece of nylon.

Should I stock all diameters of Diamondcord? ( 2.8mm, 3.2mm, 3.6mm, 5.5mm )
  • Consider for example how many chainsaw users also own ATV’s snowmobiles, outboards engines etc… The crossover between products and users is very high, and selling all diameters gives you the ability to sell multiple cords to each of your customers. Almost everyone owns a piece of equipment that requires a starter cord, be it a weed eater, lawn mower, snowmobile etc…

Can I sell the Diamoncord to my customers for other applications?
  • Yes, there are many other applications for Diamondcord. You can substitute nylon, polyester or steel cable in any application with our product.
Tow lines, winch line, tie-up lines for boats, etc, etc.

Why does Diamond Cord™ come in only 4 diameters (2.8mm, 3.2mm, 3.6mm and 5.5mm)?
  • The 2.8mm has a breaking strength of 1500lbs. and the 5.5mm has a breaking strength of 6000 lbs, thus the Diamond Cord™ is strong enough for all applications.
  • The Diamond Cord™ spools and packs far better than nylon, meaning that where an application requires a smaller diameter cord the Diamond Cord™ will fit. The diameters (2.8mm – 5.5mm) and 5 pre cut lengths 40” 48”, 72”, 88”, & 92” are suitable for all equipment requiring a pull start.
